Opt out of location services

Microsoft operates a location service that helps determine the approximate geographic location of your computer or mobile device. To do this, Microsoft collects MAC addresses of wireless access points in the area. These addresses are only stored as part of a location database, and we do not use them for any other purpose.

If you do not want your MAC address to be used as part of our location services database, you can request to have it excluded here.

Your MAC address is stored on your router and can be found in your device's settings or the documentation that came with it. You enter it in a format like this: 11:aa:22:bb:3c:4d.
